Our family loves, loves, loves smoothies. And, I've found them to be a great way to get not only some fruits but some veggies, as well. Here's one that your whole family will like (just don't mention the pumpkin part, right?):
Tropical and Pumpkin Smoothie
Serves: 4
1 cup OJ
1/2 cup organic plain yogurt
1 banana
1/4 cup pure pumpkin puree (or sweet potato puree)
2 handfuls frozen, cubed mango
2 handfuls frozen, cubed pinneapple
Optional:
- 2 T elderberry concentrate (we've been taking this for an extra immune boost)
- 2 T ground flaxseed (full of omega 3's and fiber; fights inflammation)
Blend in your blender and enjoy!
