Wheat Bread with Flax Seed

I have friends who could make a living off their delectable homemade artisan breads.  But, since I'm no expert bread maker (nor do I aspire to be at this juncture), I still turn to my good ole bread machine for a warm loaf.  If you're like me--meaning you use a bread machine and you like healthy, homemade bread--you may want to give this recipe a try.  I made it yesterday, and my whole family enjoyed it with soup and again this morning as breakfast.  It is filling, has a hint of sweetness, and is full 'o fiber.  I will be making it again for sure.

Wheat Bread with Flax Seed

From: allrecipes.com
Makes: 1.5 lb loaf (the original recipe says 1 lb loaf, but I found it to be too dense not baked through)

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil (I used olive oil)
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup bread flour
3/4 cup ground flax seed
1 tablespoon vital wheat gluten
2 tablespoons dry milk powder
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast

Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select cycle (1 lb loaf; wheat bread); press Start.
